Combine The Victorious
Combine the Victorious formed in Vancouver in 2007, growing from a spirited collaboration between husband and wife: record producer/engineer Mark R Henning, formerly of Pure and Blisterene, and fashion designer Isabelle Dunlop. Combine the Victorious to fuse elements of electronica, rock, dance and pop into a unique and compelling soundscape. Combine the Victorious plays every 1st Sunday of the month at Reef on Main St.
Azul Salvaje has been playing music for over 45 years. He musical playground involves Electro-Acoustic Fusion Roots & World Jazz Blues, PsyDub, Downtempo Chill and Brazilectro Nu-Bossa. Azul runs our popular Slo-Mo Brunch events at our 1018 Commercial Dr. location Sundays from 12 to 3pm.
DJ Su Comandante
Hailing from El Salvador and moving to Victoria at age 13, Raul Espinoza taught himself to use turntables in the year 2000 and soon after became DJ Su Comandante.
Since then, he has opened for acts such as K-OS, Wyclef Jean of the Fugees, Yellowman, Kinnie Starr, Kytami, Native Guns, Canary Sing, Gabriel Teodros, Alpha Yaya Diallo, Kevin Finseth, the Boom Booms, Mindil Beach Markets, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderrer, Long Beach Shortbus, The Furios and Fishbone. He has also been featured at events such as Groovefest, Skafest and YoFest in Victoria along with Diwali and Under the Volcano in Vancouver, and hosted a radio show of underground hip hop for 5 years at CFUV radio in Victoria.
Caçadora (Ca-sa-dor-a) (Brazilian for huntress)
Tracking earthly frequencies for sensual sounds.
Her sets lean towards the organic, blending world roots rhythms with tasty electronic beats. She incorporates a healthy dub influence in her sound, spun with Jamaican, East Indian, Latin, Brazilian and funk flavours. Caçadora delivers these global vibrations with a sweet warm bass and serves them up inside dub, reggae, glitch hop, dancehall and breakbeat — subwoofer is a must.
